Super Kamiokande results: atmospheric and solar neutrinos
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Atmospheric neutrino and solar neutrino data from the first phase of Super-Kamiokande (SKI) are presented. The observed data are used to study atmospheric and solar neutrino oscillations. Zenith angle distributions from various atmospheric neutrino data samples are used to estimate the neutrino oscillation parameter region. In addition, a new result of the L/E measurement is presented. A dip in the L/E distribution was observed in the data, as predicted from the sinusoidal flavor transition probability of neutrino oscillation. The energy spectrum and the time variation such as day/night and seasonal differences of solar neutrino flux are measured in Super-Kamiokande. The neutrino oscillation parameters are strongly constrained from those measurements.

Results from Super-kamiokande
The results from Super-Kamiokande on atmospheric neutrinos and solar neutrinos are presented. The contained event analysis of atmospheric neutrinos shows a small value of p/e ratio and a large asymmetry in the zenith angle distribution. A distortion of zenith angle distribution is observed in the upward-through-going muons resulting from atmospheric neutrino interactions in the rock surrounding...
متن کاملResults on Neutrino Oscillations from 400 Days of Super-kamiokande Data
The Super-Kamiokande experiment, using the world's largest underground water Cherenkov detector, has been running since April 1, 1996. The total live time for the analysis has reached more than 350 days. The latest results on atmospheric neutrinos, solar neutrinos, and related topics are reported. c 1997 by Yoshitaka Itow.
متن کاملSolar and Atmospheric Neutrinos in Super-Kamiokande
The Super-Kamiokande (SK) water Cherenkov detector has been operating for nearly 12 years collecting data for the study of both solar and atmospheric neutrinos as well as searching for neutrinos from supernovæ(and relic supernovæ) and for nucleon decay. The experiment has undergone three operating phases during the full running period: SK-I (40% photocathode coverage), SK-II (20% coverage), and...
متن کاملNew Results from Super-k and K2k
This paper summarizes recent (as of SSI-02, in some cases updated in November, 2002) results from the Super-Kamiokande and K2K experiments. The interpretation of Super-Kamiokande results on atmospheric and solar neutrinos provides strong evidence for neutrino oscillations, hence non-zero neutrino mass. While statistics are still limited, K2K data are consistent with Super-Kamiokande results on ...

It is shown that only two four-neutrino schemes are compatible with the results of all neutrino oscillation experiments. These two schemes have a mass spectrum composed of two pairs of neutrinos with close masses separated by the “LSND gap” of the order of 1 eV. Talk presented at the Xth International School “PARTICLES and COSMOLOGY”, 19–25 April 1999, Baksan Valley, Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia,...
